THE POWER OF THE LATINX VOTE

Author and campaign strategist, Chuck Rocha, will give insight into how Latino voter outreach is vital to our election system. Chuck is an Advisory Board Member of Leaders of Color, which recruits Black and Brown leaders to serve in public office, and is also the founder of Nuestro PAC, a partisan Super PAC that aims to educate, mobilize and turn out Latinos in key electoral states.

LATINX REPRESENTATION IN LAW - IMPROVING THE JUSTICE SYSTEM

Nearly 20% of the U.S. population is Latinx. But only 4% of lawyers are Latinx. In this presentation, panelists will discuss what steps the legal profession and the Minnesota Latinx community must take to increase the representation of Latinx lawyers in the law, and thereby ensure that our justice system reflects those it serves.

Dolores Huerta is a civil rights activist and community organizer. She has worked for labor rights and social justice for over 50 years. In 1962, she and Cesar Chavez founded the United Farm Workers union. In 2012 President Obama bestowed Dolores with The Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States.

Since starting as a correspondent in 2019, Jimenez has helped lead CNN's coverage on numerous national and international stories including: the murder of George Floyd, the first major COVID-19 outbreak in the United States, the sudden death of Kobe Bryant, and more.

HOW CAN I BUY MY TICKETS?

On Eventbrite, we are selling discounted Early Bird tickets until October 31, 2021. After the Early Bird ticket sale is over, you will be able to purchase General Admission tickets until November 10, 2021. Bulk orders are discounted when purchasing five or more tickets.

IS THIS A VIRTUAL CONFERENCE?

Yes. Replays of each session will be available until December 10, 2021 with purchase of admission.

The live-stream will take place on November 9 - 10 starting at 8:00 AM and ending at 3:30 PM. During this time you can watch the live sessions, interact in the public chat with other guests and speakers, you will also have access to the networking lounge and you will have the opportunity to connect with other guests through direct messages and one-on-one meetings.

HOW DO I ENTER THE CONFERENCE?

With your ticket of admission, you will receive and email from Eventbrite and from Airmeet with detailed information on how to enter the virtual venue. For assistance, please email: info@latinoleadmn.org

DO I NEED TO DOWNLOAD ANYTHING?

No. You only need your email address to receive your ticket and access to the internet. This conference will be held on a virtual platform that does not require installation.
